Fay has over 20 years’ experience of inspiring children through music.  Her work spans all forms of musical education, from one on one support for those with profound and multiple learning difficulties to organising large scale concerts. Fay is the chair of the Partnership Panel for Milton Keynes Music Service and enjoys her role supporting the Head of Service and working with board members to increase opportunities for children and young people in Milton Keynes.

Nick Cutts has spent his career working in music management for a number of high-profile organisations. Most recently Nick worked as General Manager for The Bach Choir and has also worked for Milton Keynes City Orchestra, The Royal Opera House, English National Opera, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Universal Music Publishers, to name a few, gaining a huge number of valuable contacts along the way. Nick gained his music degree in Bath, studying performance (trumpet) and composition. He still does both, but in his spare time.

Nick founded Alina Orchestra in August 2017, with the idea that Alina would be a ‘musical resource’ for the local area, bringing live music and outreach (including all of its related well-being benefits) to all members of the community.

Nick enjoys a wide range of music from Bach to Mendelssohn, Stravinsky to Roxanna Panufnik. When he isn’t working he likes spending time with his son and following his beloved Liverpool FC.

I have been teaching music for 30 years in various roles leading the subject in both primary and secondary settings as well as working for the MK Music Faculty as a whole class curriculum teacher for the last 15 years.  Alongside this my role as Strategy Officer for the MK Music Co-operative allows me to use my experience to support both our teachers and school partners in providing quality instrumental lessons for our local children; a role I very much enjoy.  Having grown up in the Milton Keynes music system myself, I am passionate to help work towards the future success of music education in the area.

Paul Harris is one of the UK’s most influential music educationalists.  He studied clarinet at the Royal Academy of Music, where he won the August Manns Prize for outstanding performance in clarinet playing and where he now teaches.  He is in great demand as a teacher, composer, and writer (he has written over 600 books); and his inspirational masterclasses and workshops continue to influence thousands of young musicians and teachers all over the world in both the principles and practice of musical performance and education.

I am the Instrumental Leader with the MK Music Faculty and amongst other things I take the lead on running the Music Centre & Ensembles and the whole class instrumental programme in MK Schools.  I have been lucky enough to have had a rich and varied musical career, which has included being a professional trumpet player and more recently a brass teacher with NMPAT.  It’s now my privilege to be working with young people in Milton Keynes.

I am one of the organisers of the annual Milton Keynes Music and Drama Festival. My focus is on the instrumental aspects of the festival where I see musicians from beginners through to accomplished players enjoying their playing and developing hoping to become the Milton Keynes Young Musician of the Year. As a percussionist I’ve played with a wide variety of groups from community brass bands to semi-professional orchestras and in venues from church fetes to large festivals. It’s a huge privilege to work with the team at the music service to help new generations of musicians have the best opportunities we can offer, so that they can enjoy music as much as I always have.
